What you’ll do when you join us:

• Conduct literature reviews for product development, publications, and funding proposals. Ensure literature reviews include studies with culturally and ethnically diverse samples and/or studies conducted by a culturally and ethnically diverse group of scholars.
• Assist in data collection by creating and managing online surveys, support interviews and focus groups, and conduct observations. Collaborate with Research Scientist and Research Associate to collect data from culturally and ethnically diverse samples and evaluate and document potential biases in all data collection instruments.
• Clean and code data, conduct qualitative and quantitative data analysis, and create data visualizations.
• Write summaries of research findings with an equity lens.
• Support -writing of reports, manuscripts, and/or grants (summarizes relevant research studies, creates tables/figures, applies APA formatting, etc.).

Here’s what we’re looking for:

• Bachelor's Degree or equivalent research experience in education, social work, sociology, psychology, public health or a related social science discipline OR in human-centered design, product design, or user experience (UX).
• 1+ years of research experience, including conducting literature reviews, collecting data via surveys and/or focus groups, analyzing qualitative and quantitative data, and reporting.
• Project Management: Assists in data collection activities (e.g., surveys, focus groups, interviews), acting with attention to detail, managing time effectively to meet deadlines for deliverables.
• Communication: Use clear, concise written and verbal communication that is accurate and error free when distilling research data for research reports or presentations.
• Research Methods:
  • Organize collected data, clean it, coding it and identifying themes, and performing descriptive analysis to answer the previously determined research question(s).
  • Create data visualizations and reports.
  • Conduct literature reviews and syntheses.
• Adaptability: Demonstrates effort to understand changes and uses curiosity to gain information about new situations as they arise. Responds flexibly to changing circumstances, priorities, and deadlines and reacts with appropriate urgency.
• Collaboration: Seeks out and uses ideas, opinions, and insights from diverse and various individuals.
• Foundational knowledge of and ability to apply a range of research methodologies, including quantitative, qualitative, and mixed method designs. Ability to conduct literature reviews with a diversity, equity, and inclusion lens.
• Foundational knowledge of and ability to collect and analyze data according to research protocols. Ability to use descriptive statistics to synthesize data and create visualizations to show key trends.
• Software Applications: Knowledge of MS Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and Outlook. Experience using analytical software programs such as SPSS and Nvivo or Dedoose. Experience using online survey tools (e.g., Survey Monkey, Qualtrics).

Note: Job is performed primarily remote, however only candidates that live within 75 miles of our Seattle, WA location will be considered. May be required to work from the Seattle office as needed or at discretion of management.

The hiring range for this position is $31.00 - $33.00 per hour. The pay offered will take into account internal equity and may vary depending on geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience, among other factors.
