This role leads the end-to-end management of merchant risk with the strategic merchants in the Americas where a material share of the exposure is in travel related industries. Within the broader credit risk organization, this team supports the success of the GMNS business unit, through innovative solutions that help enable profitable growth via acquisition while maintaining robust low tenure credit performance. Leading a large high performing global team, this role will report into the Chief Credit Officer of Global GMNS Risk, to work on an exciting growth area for American Express with excellent visibility to Senior Leadership. The incumbent will also work with the GMNS Risk team to design and create robust controls and strategies against existing risk and business processes against the PRSA framework, as well as ensuring the team has a robust, detailed and comprehensive documentation reflecting these. The incumbent will partner closely with the larger credit and fraud risk organization, internal audit group, control management, compliance and technology.
