Essential Functions <ul> <li>Perform clinical duties in the RSO Eye Care Clinical Network.</li> <li>Oversee clinical interns performing vision exams (assessment of visual acuity, evaluation of external and internal eye health, detailed testing of eye movements to detect any issues involving the alignment of eyes, and dilated examination as necessary).</li> <li>Finalize prescriptions, as necessary.</li> <li>Refer patients, as necessary.</li> <li>Work collaboratively with departmental faculty to ensure standard curriculum outcomes are met.</li> <li>Adhere to UIW policies and procedures, including timely record keeping of student activities, fair and equitable evaluation of student performance, and timely feedback to students regarding their performance in the course.</li> <li>Adhere to RSO Clinical policies and procedures including HIPPA Compliance.</li> <li>Be available for office hours as determined by faculty and the dean.</li> <li>Conduct respectful relationships with faculty, staff, residents, interns, and students both in and outside the classroom.</li> <li>Maintain contact with the department chair and participate in meetings upon request.</li> <li>Perform other duties as assigned.</li> </ul> Job Duties Knowledge Skills and Abilities <ul> <li>Ability to provide instruction as needed.</li> <li>Ability to effectively learn, use, and incorporate instructional technology and equipment into clinical services.</li> <li>Willingness and flexibility to provide coverage on evenings and weekends as needed.</li> <li>Ability to work effectively with individuals from diverse communities and cultures.</li> <li>Employee shall adhere to all applicable rules and regulations of the University, the Conference, and the NCAA.</li> </ul> Required Education OD from an accredited school or college of optometry. Required Work Experience Completion of a residency/fellowship program or three (3) years of equivalent clinical experience. Preferred Qualifications <ul> <li>Advanced academic degree.</li> <li>Prior experience in residency training.</li> <li>Prior teaching experience.</li> </ul> Required Certifications, Licenses or Registrations Eligibility for licensure to practice the full scope of Optometry in Texas. Work Hours Work hours may very based on Clinical Assignment.
