Position Summary
The Office of Experiential Education is seeking candidates for the position of Introductory Pharmacy Practice Experience (IPPE) Coordinator/Assistant Professor within the Feik School of Pharmacy. This full-time faculty position involves working with the Associate Dean for Experiential Education to develop sites and recruit preceptors for experiential education. The primary focus is on overseeing IPPE, including the assignment of students to sites, student onboarding, as well as providing supervision and evaluation for students, preceptors, and experiential sites.

In all matters, faculty are expected to maintain the highest standards of professional ethics consistent with the UIW Mission. Official duties and responsibilities of faculty members at the University include teaching, scholarship, service, and professional activities as assigned.

The credentials of the selected candidate will determine the final rank of tenure or non-tenure status.

Essential Functions
  • Develop sites and preceptors for experiential education.
  • Assign and onboard students to sites.
  • Supervise and evaluate students and training sites.
  • Coordinate preceptor library access and database management.
  • Participate in curriculum development and teaching within the needs of the office.
  • Collaborate with the APPE Coordinator.
  • Provide student mentorship.
  • Perform regular scholarly research and publication.
  • Provide service to the department, school, university, community, and profession.
  • Comply with UIW Faculty Handbook processes and policies.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

  • Employee shall adhere to all applicable rules and regulations of the University, the Conference, and the NCAA.

Required Education
Bachelor of Pharmacy degree.

Required Work Experience
At least three (3) years of experience as a pharmacist.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Doctor of Pharmacy degree (Pharm.D.).
  • Prior preceptor experience.
  • Experience in a higher education setting.

Required Certifications, Licenses or Registrations
  • Texas Pharmacist License.
  • Texas Preceptor Certification.

Work Hours
Typical for full-time faculty.Some overnight travel is expected.
